The measure of your word is ultimately determined by the value you place on it.

Many people trade the value of their word for the perceived reward of their selfishness.

In other words, people lie.

Have you ever known someone who would rather tell a lie than tell the truth? It’s like they’re incapable of telling the truth.

Lies are one of the main tools of The Evil One. With them, he can create dissention, mistrust, and anger… all things that make relationships impossible to sustain.

In our relationships, honesty is the gold standard. You simply can’t have a fruitful relationship when its basis is built on lies. Perhaps some people don’t want that. They only want what they can get out of it. Selfishness abounds where The Evil One is allowed to run rampant.

Today’s Tiny Words. Big Life. “AHA!” moment is realize that God cares about your word. It all boils down to how you treat others. If you’re constantly lying and conniving to take advantage of people, God knows it and judgment will be swift and sure. Being honest with others is a measure of your love toward them. If you care about someone, you’ll shoot straight with them. There is no place for lies within the bond of marriage, friendship, or old fashioned trust.

The best advice to be truthful is to simply refuse to tell a lie. Reading the Bible can help with that but ultimately, you have to place a value on it and work to maintain it.
