Why is it that love can make us do things we normally wouldn’t do while we do things to those we love that we wouldn’t allow others to do?

Today’s Tiny Words post might sound a little strange… or scary.

Do you remember the feeling you had when you first met your spouse or significant other? There was a feeling of euphoria–like you were floating on air. Everything in life just seemed to be a little bit better.

Flash forward to the present. Keep in mind, I’m not talking of abuse (hopefully that hasn’t entered your mind… If it has, go to God in prayer and seek professional help.) In the present life, we do things sometimes that none of us are proud of. It’s not something we really intend on doing. It’s just that life gets in the way of our peace (aka Evil One) and undesirable actions can result from the stress. It could be being argumentative, obstinate, or just plain ole’ meanness. Regardless, our loved ones deserve nothing more than patience and caring from us.

To combat this, get on your knees and ask God to remove the inclination to react negatively. Petition God based on His promises. Your relationship will improve and become more pleasing to God.

Mark 10 : 9

Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.
