Effort is the difference in knowing how to do something and actually doing it.

“You’ll never know ’til you try.”

We’ve all heard it. We’ve all said it.

The same goes for knowledge. We can read about it and we can study it. But, you really never know how to do something until you actually do it.

Does the same principle hold true for being holy… to be more like Jesus?

See if you can follow what I’m saying here… We can talk about being holy. We’re all loving and kind. We say the right things and we’re seen in the most visible pew in the church. All looks good, right?

The problem is that looking the part has nothing to do with living the part. And don’t think for a minute that we’re fooling God. He sees our heart which no one else can really see. (I mean really see.)

In today’s Tiny Words. Big Life. Bible verse, we read that talk brings poverty. Yeah, that too.

So move forward from this post and make it a point to do something. Make your time and effort count. And while you’re at it, give all the glory to God. For it is in His power that we can do all things–and not just talk about them.

Proverbs 14 : 23

All hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty.
