A life of truth is built by seeking knowledge which brings understanding – which brings perspective – which brings love – which brings truth.

First of all, why would someone want to live a life of “truth”? Although there might seem to be an obvious answer to a very simple question, understand that a life of truth is not easy. Everywhere we go… everywhere we look… the world invites us, if not pushes us, to live a life based on “an image of what it wants truth to look like.”

If you think about it, this is a very frightening scenario.

Granted, the world we live in is dramatically different than the time when today’s Tiny Words. Big Life. Bible verse was written. We have social media, television, and countless other manipulative ways that simply seem more capable of derailing our daily walk with God. But make no mistake, sin is sin and it always has been.

To live by truth, we must first seek knowledge. It will not look for you. As I said above, the “quasi-truth” of today’s world is about the only influence that will seek you out. To find the real truth, you have to look for it by seeking knowledge.

Once you find that, you have to discern what is fact and what is fiction. This can be especially difficult these days, given all the sources of “facts” that abound. At the end of today’s post, I’ll speak more about that.

Close on the heels of discernment is perspective. Tiny Words. Big Life. has already spoken about perspective but in a loving sense, it matters.

And finally, before you can live for truth, you have to love the truth. You must combine love with the discernment and perspective that you’ve already discovered. This combination illuminates truth.

The Tiny Words. Big Life. takeaway is to distance yourself from the truth that’s presented by this world. You must read the Holy Bible for confirmation of the truth that you perceive for it is the infallible word of God.

One of God’s promises and blessings is the Holy Spirit who will intercede on our behalf. Through His divine presence and prayer, the truth will be known.

Desire it. Look for it. Listen for it. Love it–and it will love you back.

Psalm 119 : 160

All your words are true; all your righteous laws are eternal.
