A main ingredient in the recipe to living a happy and fulfilling life is a daily helping of deciding that you will.

As with everything, including God’s creation, there is a beginning. For Him, there was nothing but a void. The world was without form. Our lives are a lot like that sometimes. We aimlessly ramble from one thing to another, either by being motivated to do something meaningful or to do something, period. When you think about it, it’s a pretty pathetic way to go about life. But many of us, probably all of us, do it that way–at least more than we want to. It takes great effort and commitment to stay focused when all the world is slinging arrows and demanding your time.

So, I suppose the main emphasis of today’s post is to step back and take control. Each day. Refuse to be held captive to others. Refuse to be held captive to “things” that don’t deserve to manipulate your precious life. Decide to make a difference in your own life. And pray for strength.

Philippians 4 : 8
