“Striking while the iron is hot” can only be achieved if you built a fire when the iron was cold.

Wouldn’t it be nice if everything was easy? I think I could get used to that but I don’t think I would end up enjoying it very much. We all know the drill… Nothing that’s worth anything comes easy. Well, most of the time. And if it does, it turns out to be less amazing that you expected it would be.

Let’s think long-term for a minute… Let’s say you live to be seventy-five years old. No, wait, let’s change that. I want to live longer than that. Say ninety. That’s more like it. What about eternity? Do you want to spend eternity with God, hanging with Jesus and the saints, not to mention your Mom and Dad and all the other people you’ll love throughout your life and who also pursued a personal relationship with Jesus.

So, what is today’s message about? Obviously, it’s a snappy way to say you’ve got to work to get anything worthwhile. Sure, you can try and skate by slacking but trust me, you ain’t gonna like it.

Proverbs 12 : 11

Those who work their land will have abundant food, but those who chase fantasies have no sense.
